CONDES DE URGELL ROUTES
A good option for excursionism is the itinerary of Ponts and el Mig Segre. This itinerary is in the route of the Condes de Urgell and passes through several villages; each village offers an interesting variety of offers and it's a recommended excursion for those people who want to know the area and admire the ancient trees, the group of small villages, houses.. around the Rialb river, and above all, the nature.
The itineraries include the visit to different villages in the surroundings as Tiurana, Oliola, Vilanova de l'Aguda, Cabanabona, etc.
The most interesting could be the romanesque route of the middle Segre (St. Pere de Ponts, San Sant Tirs d'Oliola, Santa Maria de Vilamajor, Sta. Maria de Ribelles and the benedictine monastery of Sta. Maria de Gualter).

There are many leisure activities that can be done in the municipality: from fishing and hunting, to incredible excursions to know the region, that can be on foot, on bike or using the roads to do rallies of antique cars, almost a tradition in the region.
There is a big net of alternative routes to get to places of great beauty. All of this, within the silence and tranquility of the forest, in the middle of the nature, a place where there are few traces of human presence.
Furthermore, the Rialb River ends at a dam, recently constructed, which provides an ideal zone for the practice of aquatic sports such as canoe sailing and fishing.
